Kids Hairstyles
By Hustler
It’s pretty easy to keep a kid’s hair style cute and simple, at least until they get to about twelve after which they start having their own ideas. But for the young ones, parents can have a strong influence in how their child’s hair is cut. Generally speaking, it’s easier on everybody if the cut is manageable and won’t get in the way of an active kid’s life. Boys’ hairstyles have a tendency to be short which makes their hair easier to manage and pretty straightforward when dressing for special occasions. Girls’ hair can be worn longer and therefore may be a little more work to maintain. Most kids are more concerned about running around then looking good, so fashion doesn’t have to play a big part. Here are some basic hairstyles that will get the job done.
Boys hair styles:
Boys have a plethora of cuts to choose from. Favored for their easy management, the crew cut and short spikes styles are very popular. These cuts virtually eliminate any concern for hair on the side of both the kid and the parents, while maintaining a clean and good-looking style. They are also versatile so that the athlete, the book worm or the chubby kid can easily pull them off. Taking a step beyond the crew cut or spikes you have the slight sweep or side part cut, which leaves the hair on the wider side of the part a little bit longer so you can comb it away into a subtle swoop. This look can be more formal and is perfect for special events. The last classic little boys’ hair style we’ll mention is what is referred to as the comb down. Starting from the crown, the hair is combed straight down on all sides so that the hair hangs just above the eyebrows and longer on the sides, even covering the ears in some variations. Although this cut is longer than the crew cut, the hair usually stays out of the way and can look very cute on some kids, especially if they have thicker hair.
Girls hair styles:
It’s pretty common for mom’s to like playing with their daughter’s hair. Because of this it’s important to balance cuteness with a style that allows little girls to be active and playful. This combination comes out with two popular cuts: the bob right below the ears or the classic shoulder length cut. Both of these options give a little lady the chance to look pretty without her hair taking too much of her attention. Very active girls should lean more toward the shorter bob just simply because it’s easier to maintain and won’t get tangled up as quickly. Long hair is beautiful and can be curled at the ends for nice occasions or if you have a little extra time before school. The down side is that it’s harder to clean and maintain and gets tangled up easily. This can be avoided by putting long hair up in a ponytail. Beware of middle length hair that falls in the face and eyes but is too short to put up in a ponytail. Both long and short hair look great styled with curls, ringlets or waves. You can pin longer hair up more elaborately with braids and twists, but short hair can be surprising in it’s versatility as well.
Good hair hygiene and care is important for kids to learn. Be sure to wash and brush their hair often as this teaches them by example and keeps them clean and cared-for.
